Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates. Set up by Royal (Amiri) Decree in 2003, Etihad is the fastest growing airline in the history of commercial aviation. The airline seeks to reflect the hospitality, culture, warmth and generosity of Arabia - as well as enhance the prestige of Abu Dhabi as a centre of hospitality between East and West. Project

Farnborough Airshow

Objectives

Etihad Airways approached IGNITION to design and install a 120sqm chalet at Farnborough Airshow that would emulate the luxury of their first class lounges and continue to position them as a leading player in the airline industry.

Results

The chalet was designed, manufactured and installed in three weeks from start to finish using the highest specification of materials ever used at Farnborough. Marble floors and mosaic tiled bathrooms coupled with bespoke furniture and lighting provided Etihad with a luxurious on brand experience for their visitors.

The chalet supported the over arching event strategy which aimed to market the airline to the airshow audience for the first time. During the show the airline placed one of the largest aircraft orders in the history of commercial aviation. The total deal for up to 205 wide-body and narrow-body planes was worth approximately $43 billion.

The chalet provided an on message environment for guests and helped reconfirm Etihad Airways’ commitment to long-term growth in the aviation sector.
