Mark Riggott

Mark Riggott

It is with profound shock and a great sense of sadness that we announce the death of Mark Riggott, Chief Financial Officer at Ignition DG, who passed away suddenly on the 28th of May.

Mark first joined Ignition in 2011, as part of a short-term project to help migrate finance software systems. His insights, ideas and strategies soon saw him offered the role of Financial Controller. Mark’s role was initially just for Ignition, where he also helped set up the company’s Indianapolis-based office, before becoming CFO, with responsibility for the whole Group.

Mark was born in Sheffield and brought up in Derbyshire and Kent before moving to Auckland, New Zealand at the age of four, returning to the UK at the age of 18.  He was hugely-experienced in financial management, having trained initially in the manufacturing industries sector, before spending over 25 years in the creative and communications industries, with particular knowledge of the business world in the South-West.

Mark was a hugely capable CFO and a wonderfully funny man, with a very drole sense of humour. We shall miss him very much.

‘When I say I’m an accountant, people often find it hard to believe. I think it’s probably the relaxed New Zealand attitude I grew up with, combined with an ad agency background. You’ll usually find me socialising with the creatives.’
